Our populations

Each site delivers a different community and demographic.

Bournemouth recruits from the general population, notably one of most elderly populations in the UK, especially the over 80s.

Portsmouth is based in the heart of the city.

Southampton is based in a Health Centre in a diverse part of this vibrant coastal city.

Weymouth recruits in an area of both coastal and rural health inequalities.

Our two mobile units travel across Wessex. Our partnership with SCAS further increases our reach, via their mobile units used for community engagement.

Salisbury serves a predominantly rural and ageing population across Wiltshire and surrounding areas, including a significant community of serving military personnel, veterans, and their families.

Basingstoke's population is predominantly of working age, supporting strong opportunities for commercial research, while the increasing proportion of older residents aligns with growing demand for research into ageing, frailty, multimorbidity and long-term conditions.
